Version 1.0
Cookies Policy
How ReverseBids.net, an AIONIQ Enterprise platform, uses cookies and similar technologies, and how to manage your choices.
This policy is a practical implementation based on the current technology stack. It should still be reviewed against ReverseBids.net's final vendor list and applicable law in every jurisdiction the platform actively serves before being treated as a final, lawyer-reviewed document — see Section 10.
1. Purpose
This Cookies Policy explains how ReverseBids.net (“ReverseBids”, “we”, “us” or “our”), an AIONIQ Enterprise platform, uses cookies and similar technologies when buyers, suppliers, market participants and other visitors use our website, web application or related services.
This policy should be read together with our Privacy Policy and Terms of Use.
2. What Cookies Are
Cookies are small text files stored on a user's device by a website. Similar technologies include local storage, software development kits, pixels and device identifiers. They may enable security, remember settings, measure service performance or support communications and marketing.
What this policy does not cover. Server-side records such as bid timestamps and audit logs are not cookies and are not activated or controlled by the cookie-consent banner described here — Section 6 explains why, and what governs them instead.
3. Our Consent Approach
Strictly necessary cookies may operate without optional consent because the platform cannot securely provide requested services without them. Preference, analytics and marketing technologies remain disabled unless you actively accept the relevant category.
Rejecting optional cookies will not prevent access to the main public service, but some optional features or remembered preferences may be unavailable. You may change or withdraw consent at any time through Cookie Settings in the website footer, or the button below. Withdrawal does not affect processing already lawfully completed before withdrawal.
3.1 Jurisdictional Scope
ReverseBids.net serves buyers and suppliers across multiple countries and legal regimes. This policy is written to the general standard of opt-in consent for non-essential cookies (the approach required under, for example, the EU/UK ePrivacy and data-protection framework and India's Digital Personal Data Protection Act, 2023) rather than to any single jurisdiction's exact wording. It is not a representation of compliance with every applicable law in every country of use. Legal review against the specific jurisdictions ReverseBids.net actively serves is required before publication and should be repeated as the platform's geographic footprint changes.
4. Cookie Categories
A. Strictly Necessary — Always Active
Used for login sessions, authentication, security, fraud prevention, auction integrity, RFQ and bid submission, consent records, and other functions expressly requested by the user. These cookies are not used for advertising.
B. Preferences — Optional
Would remember choices such as language, currency display, accessibility settings and interface preferences. Not currently used — multi-language and similar features may be introduced after Version 1.0 of the platform.
C. Analytics — Optional
Would help us understand aggregated usage, performance, error rates and navigation. Not currently used — no analytics tooling is integrated on the platform today. If added, analytics will be configured to minimise data, shorten retention and avoid advertising use unless separately disclosed and accepted.
D. Marketing — Optional
Would measure campaigns or support relevant communications. Not currently used. ReverseBids will never activate marketing cookies merely because a user accepts the Terms of Use; marketing consent must be separate and voluntary.
5. Current Cookie Register
The table below lists every cookie ReverseBids.net actually sets today. No Preferences, Analytics or Marketing cookies are currently in use — this table will be updated the moment that changes.
| Cookie | Provider | Purpose | Category | Duration |
|---|---|---|---|---|
| buyer_session | ReverseBids.net | Maintains a signed-in buyer's secure authenticated session | Necessary | 5 days |
| supplier_session | ReverseBids.net | Maintains a signed-in supplier's secure authenticated session | Necessary | 5 days |
| acp_session | ReverseBids.net | Maintains a signed-in admin's secure authenticated session | Necessary | Session or configured maximum |
| rb_consent | ReverseBids.net | Stores your cookie consent categories, policy version and timestamp | Necessary | 180 days |
6. Auction, Security and Audit Data (Not Cookies)
Auction records, bid timestamps and audit logs are not automatically “cookies” merely because they relate to a user. Their collection and retention are described in the Privacy Policy and platform records, not this Cookies Policy. All bid-ranking and audit-trail timestamps are generated by our servers, not submitted by a user's browser, and form part of the platform's audit and traceability record.
Optional analytics or marketing identifiers may never be repurposed for bidder profiling, pricing decisions or anti-collusion enforcement without an appropriate disclosed legal basis and safeguards.
7. Third-Party Services
Some platform functions are supplied by hosting, authentication and payment providers. Such providers may place or read technologies only as permitted by our configuration, contracts and your choices. A link to a third-party site is governed by that party's policy once you leave ReverseBids.net.
8. Managing Cookies
You can:
- Select Accept all, Reject optional, or Manage choices on the consent banner;
- Reopen Cookie Settings from the website footer, or the button in Section 3 above;
- Clear or block cookies using your browser settings.
Blocking strictly necessary cookies through browser settings may prevent secure login, bidding, RFQ submission, or other requested functions.
9. Data Minimisation and Retention
We seek to collect only data reasonably required for the stated purpose. Consent records are retained for accountability and renewal purposes. Cookie duration and related server logs are reviewed periodically, and obsolete identifiers are deleted or anonymised according to the approved retention schedule.
10. Children
ReverseBids.net is a business-to-business platform and is not intended for use by children. Users must have legal capacity and authority to act for the relevant organisation.
11. Changes to This Policy
We may update this policy when technologies, providers, purposes or legal requirements change. Material changes may require the consent banner to be shown again. The version number above is recorded against every consent decision you make.
12. Contact and Grievances
For cookie, privacy or consent questions, contact admin@reversebids.net, or use the Privacy request / Grievance option on our Contact page. Until a named Grievance Officer is formally appointed and published, communications received at this address are routed to the authorised privacy or grievance contact.
